Pop singer Elle King seemingly confirmed recent breakup rumours over the weekend, announcing that she was skipping out on what would have been her wedding day to take a private jet to a rock concert in Seattle.
“Skipped out on my wedding. I married Rock & Roll instead so I hopped on tour with EAGLES OF F—ING DEATH METAL,” she captioned a video posted to her Instagram page.
King and her fiance, Andrew “Fergie” Ferguson, split just weeks before their planned wedding, having been engaged since February 2016. He proposed during a romantic sailboat cruise through San Francisco Bay, below the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.
In the lead-up to what would have been their wedding, he had her name tattooed to the front of his neck, while she had his name tattooed on her chest.
She also filmed an appearance shopping her wedding gown at Kleinfeld’s Bridal on Say Yes to the Dress, which aired on TLC just last month. She explained how she and Fergie, from the UK, first met. “We met in London in the lobby of my hotel, and it was like we had known each other for 10 years. We hung out all night, it was my last day in London, and he was like, ‘You can’t go home.’ And I didn’t get on my flight, and I stayed in London. Two days later, he quit his job and moved to America. He proposed 12 days after we met.”
King, 27, is the biological daughter of comedic actor Rob Schneider and former model London King, though both admit they had no relationship while she was growing up.
