Actors Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Mean Girls) and Thomas Sadoski (The Newsroom) have had a monumental couple of weeks. First, they eloped together in California on Sunday, March 12th, and welcomed their first child – a daughter – just over a week later!
Sadoski revealed the wedding news during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on March 16th, reflecting on the simple ceremony as the perfect choice for the low-key Hollywood pair.
“We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant, just the two of us, and we did our thing. We had a great day; it was perfect. She’s the person that I love, admire, respect most in the world,” Sadoski said, revealing the couple wrote their own vows as he flashed his wedding band. “It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other.”
There are no indications yet what the couple wore to wed, but it was unlikely that Seyfried wore a white dress, if a 2016 interview with Vogue Australia is any indication. “I don’t want to be the [centre] of attention. I got married so many times in my life—onscreen! I don’t want a white dress! I’ve worn so many of them. You know what I mean? The fact is, that kind of stuff is [more] about the ceremony and [less] about the commitment.”
Seyfried, 31, and Sadoski, 40, first met on the set of the 2015 Off-Broadway play The Way We Get By, and started dating when they reconnected during filming of their new film, The Last Word. They announced their engagement last September, just two months before news broke that they would become parents. This is Seyfried’s first marriage and Sadoski’s second; he was previously married to casting director Kimberly Hope from 2007-15.
