Country singer Frankie Ballard surprised fans on Sunday, March 12, 2017, with the announcement – with photo – that he had married his girlfriend Christina Murphy earlier that day.
The couple were married at 5 p.m. Star Hill Ranch in Bee Cave, Texas, a country event venue that recreates 1900s Texas, with a restored wedding chapel built in 1899, outside Austin. Murphy’s white dress featured a low back and dropped hemline, with mermaid skirt. She wore her locks down in loose waves, wearing a lace veil and jeweled headband. Ballard, 34, kept it simple in a black bowtie and tuxedo.
Murphy’s father passed away recently, so she carried a handkerchief sewn from his favorite shirt to honour him throughout the day. When the newlyweds entered the evening reception, their guests greeted them enthusiastically with colourful glowsticks.
Murphy, 35, an Austin native and former actress, owns a Western-inspired shoe and accessory store in Nashville called Old Smokey Boots. She starred in the music video for Ballard’s “Helluva Life” in 2014, but the wedding came as a surprise to most because the couple had not publicly announced their September 2016 engagement.
