Singer Kelly Clarkson is soon to be a married woman, according to reports that a marriage license was filed Tuesday in Sumner County, Tennessee for a Kelly Brielle Clarkson and Narvel Brandon Blackstock. If true, this would give the Nashville-based couple until November 14, 2013 to get married.
The couple got engaged in December 2012, when Blackstock, who manages country superstar Blake Shelton and is Reba McEntire’s stepson, proposed with a yellow-diamond ring he co-designed with Johnathon Arndt. Initially, Clarkson set out to plan a big backyard Thanksgiving-themed wedding for 200 guests, but changed her mind months later when she grew tired of planning. The couple had professional engagement photos taken with Archetype Studios in Houston, Clarkson’s hometown, which they then mailed to guests with an apologetic note from the former American Idol and recent Grammy winner: “Thank you so much, but it’s just going to be me and Brandon and his two kids and the minister.”
But eloping has always been on laid-back Clarkson’s radar – she admitted on Ellen DeGeneres’ show last fall that she would “totally, probably elope.”
