’90s teen idol Rider Strong, of Boy Meets World fame, is getting married on Sunday. He’ll tie the knot with longtime love Alexandra Barreto, a fellow actor, in front of friends and family in Oregon. The couple met in 2006 on the set of short-lived WB series Pepper Dennis, and also costarred in the ’06 horror flick Tooth and Nail. Strong proposed just before Christmas 2012, and shared the romantic story of the engagement ring with People, who will cover the wedding exclusively.
“I spent weeks making the ring in secret,” Strong said. “I carved the ring out of wax, cast it in white gold and had my dad make a wooden ring box for me. My dad made my mom’s ring, so I was following in his footsteps.”
On the day he proposed, Strong took Barreto to the wilderness, standing in the pouring rain beneath the redwood trees of Northern California before he got down on one knee.
This will be the first marriage for both. “I’m incredibly lucky to be getting married to my best friend and partner-in-crime,” Strong said.
